Black Fashion Staples

When it comes to fashion, black is undoubtedly a staple. I rely a lot on black pieces that I can just throw on and accessorise with a cute pair of socks and a pair of boots, or a statement necklace and be good to go.

Here are a few of the items I think are key:

The high-waisted jeans (Topshop Joni)

The T-shirt dress (Cotton On)

The ankle boot (Topshop)

The leather jacket (River Island)

I love having these items to depend on in my time of need (dramatic much?). I hope this provides some inspiration! Black and grey are both colours I treasure, it might be boring to some, but these colours are timeless and worth spending a little extra on! đŸ™‚

Look Post: Date Night

Florals for Spring. As cliche as that sounds, I love this trend year in and year out. I found this black and red Cotton On dress to be the perfect evening summer date night look because it’s pretty and playful, and can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the occasion. I paired the dress with layered silver necklaces, a felt hat, and black wedge heels.

I’m a romantic at heart and that combined with the beautiful summer evenings that Cape Town experiences, is a pretty awesome combination. Whether it’s  dinner with a friend or a date with that special someone, I’ll be rocking this look đŸ˜‰

New Beginnings

By Tuesday, September 23, 2014 1 Permalink 3

Spring has sprung! Who says we have to wait for New Year’s to start afresh?

I am so excited to get this blogging journey started and I think I chose the right time. Fellow Capetonians will probably agree with me when I say that Cape Town is an absolute show-off when it comes to the warmer months; we have sunsets that would put most of the world to shame and all the lovely ladies get to bust out their beautiful summer attire.

My style has always been very classic and understated. I’ll mix it up every once in a while but the items that I don’t mind spending a little extra cash on tend to be items that are timeless. For this look, I chose a simple white playsuit paired with nude heels, a nude sling bag, and an elegant gold chain.

I look forward to documenting my summer and sharing it with you guys. I hope you’re as pumped as I am to soak up the sun and embrace the gorgeous summer fashion.
