Max bagels (street shot)

I have had an unwavering love for bagels for as long as I can remember. So imagine my excitement when my friend and I came across this tiny (and I really do mean tiny) gem in the heart of Cape Town.

Max bagels (interior)

Max Bagels can be found at 120 Bree Street and is open 6 days a week from 8am to 4pm. They have a delicious selection of bagel toppings to choose from and a few beverages to go with it. On this occasion, I ordered their BAT (R45) which is a twist on the classic BLT. Bacon, avo, and tomato. So mouthwateringly good.

Max bagels (food)

There are no tables, just a few benches and chairs to sit at, which is great for people-watching, but not so great if you prefer having a place to eat in comfort. In that case, just go in, order the perfect bagel, take a drive down to the Promenade, and enjoy.

The food is delicious, the place is cute as can be, and the service is really good. If you’re an avid bagel lover like I am, definitely give this spot a go ๐Ÿ™‚

Local Love: Zana

I first noticed Zana through their social media. I saw a few of my friends posting pictures of these beautiful and unique items ranging from pillow cushions to wall hangings to handbags, and I knew I had to get in on the action. I did a little research and here is what I found:

Zana was started in 2012 by a mother-daughter duo in Cape Town, both had extensive experience in the creative field and they decided to turn their passion into a business once they saw that there was a (global) demand for their products. Now, four years later, they run a successful workshop in Woodstock where all the products are created, tested and packaged.

They have three pop-up stores; one in Gardens Centre, one in Kloof Centre, and one in Cavendish, but their biggest and most convenient platform is their online store.

I made my purchase on their online store and decided to go for a black and white speckled sling bag (R310). I paid online and received an email to say that my product was ready for pick-up a week later. They do give you an option to have it couriered to you at an extra charge if you are unable to fetch it yourself. I however was able, and took the drive to Zana’s beautiful workshop in Woodstock where my package was patiently waiting. They also sell their fabric for those of you interested in DIY!

Very unique, very reasonably priced, and a great option for gifts for loved ones! They have a huge range of products ย and I can’t wait to make my next purchase, which will probably be something from their homeware section because wow.

Check out their site here.
